Absolutely the best dentist for your children. All three of my kids are thrilled when they get to go to the “teeth doctor”! Dr. Self is very knowledgeable and has the latest technology to make every visit as comfortable as possible. We are sad that we have to move away because this place is fantastic!

Wow is all I can say!! The most amazing dentist office I have been too! The staff is so incredibly kind and patient, they all interact AMAZINGLY with the kids!! We had a dental emergency and they were able to fit us in the next day even though we were not normal patients of theirs. My daughter was never scared for even a second in their office! They made both my daughter and I super comfortable and calm during a time that could be so scary and stressful. Every step of the way I felt informed and caught up! Anytime my daughter started to get restless they found a way to keep her entertained, giving her coloring pages and toys, even changing the movie to something that she wanted to watch! When all was said and done they had helped us out sooo much and our baby girl’s smile was happy and healthier than ever! My daughter is 5 1/2 and she told me she loves the dentist and can’t wait to go back! I can say when I was a kid I never wanted to go back to the dentist, so they must be doing something right! Thank you Dr. Shelly and everyone else at Poulsbo Children’s! You rock!!

By far the best! Dr Self, every assistant and receptionist were so friendly and took such great care of my daughter. My daughter had tongue and lip tie and Dr. Self and assistants were so gentle and patient with my daughter and myself. If you need someone great for your child, who is thorough, respectful and very knowledgeable... you have found the place🤗Thank you Dr. Self and staff for helping my little one! We appreciate you!

We love Poulsbo Children's Dentistry. I felt like a failure as a mom when I took my kids in for their first visit since my 5 year old had cavities, numerous cavities and at least one deep enough to require a "baby root canal". Everyone in the office was so kind and reassuring. We left with a plan to fix her cavities under sedation. I had to get approval from her doctor for this plan and... he forgot to fax the form. So, Caitlyn(I hope I'm spelling her name right) called arms got the form. The day before surgery she called to let me know that my insurance hadn't approved the procedure yet and she couldn't get anyone on the phone. We absolutely had to have this done asap so, she kept trying. She spent hours on the phone trying to solve this for me and was ultimately successful! I cannot express how grateful i am to her! The procedure went great seems my daughter was kept calm and happy the whole time.

the staff there are absolutely amazing. I'm a new mom and so we had to go around with the insurance but they were so helpful and told me exactly what to ask to see if it was covered of course insurance companies aren't always the easiest to deal with but the staff at the dentist were so patient. they were so good with my little one and made this nervous mama a little calmer. I appreciate all are wonderful help!

I recently brought my two year old in for her first dental appointment. Everyone was incredibly kind and patient. The atmosphere helped ease my daughter's discomfort. Barely a hiccup for the actual cleaning. So happy we found Poulsbo Children's Dentistry.

My 3 and 4 year old love going to the dentist thanks to Poulsbo Children's Dentistry. The atmosphere is geared towards kids and they have fun the minute they walk in the door. Dr. Self is wonderful with the kids and explains things to them in a way that they can understand. The dental assistants are amazing and go above and beyond to make sure your kids are comfortable, relaxed, and they make them feel so special each time.

They always greet us by name and are authentic in their advice to care for our boys teeth! They never pressure us and always lay out our options in a clear way. Our kids LOVE coming to the dentist and actually beg to go back. When it’s time for their 6 month visits they actually go to bed early so that their appointments will come faster. Can’t say enough great things about this office and the staff!

We had a very good experience at Poulsbo Kids & Family Dentistry, they took very good care of my son who needed some fillings and they answer all my questions. I have used them for both my kids dental needs for over 10 years. They do great work

I have been going here sense I was little and I love this dentist so much! I get excited to go to the dentist because how welcoming and friendly and how great of a job they do. Calling kids princess and Prince and friend has always helped me out and made me feel special and want to come back! I have about a year tell I'm 18 and I know I will leave very sad because I can't imagine anyone else working on my teeth besides them! They are more like a family to me than a dentist! When I have kids this will be the place I take them no matter how far away I am because this dentist is the best!!!

I love this office I drive an hour and a half from Port Angeles to go the this clinic. My children love going to the dentist, they make it very enjoyable which I think is important! All the staff have been very friendly and I am able to book there appointments at the same time and there done with there appointments within 30 minutes! My daughter has been a patient since she was two; she is now twelve and I can't imagine taking her anywhere else for dental care. The entire staff, from front office to the amazing hygenists to the dentists are all kind, compassionate caring people who genuinely work to provide a positive experience for their young clients. This is the BEST dentist for your kids! Friendly when you walk in from Shannel at the front desk, to all the Hygienists. Jessica always welcomes my girls when they come in. Dr. Brown and all the other Dentists there are wonderful with the kids. They have fun things for the kids to play with, the waiting room is full of toys & the kids can watch movies while they wait. I would highly recommend this dentist office!

From the very beginning that my son and I walked in the doors of Poulsbo Children's Dentistry, we were treated like family. The care and compassion shown by Dr. Brown and his staff was exceptional. Dr. Shelly Self is a phenomenal dentist and my children adored her. We are considering coming in from Las Vegas just for my children's dental needs! You will not find a more compassionate, skillful, honest dentist anywhere. My only negative remark is she left the Las Vegas area and will be impossible to replace.

We had our last treatment appointment a week ago! As a mom, putting your child under conscious sedation for anything (including dental work) is terrifying!! The experiences we have with Dr. Self are always beyond amazing. First of all, I was able to be in the room with my boy, which a lot of pediatric dentists don’t allow. She allowed me to see everything first hand. Not to mention, it helped my son get comfortable. Second, Dr. Self helped me understand that she uses a different sedation medication rather than what other pediatric dentists in the area recommend. She explained the differences between Demerol and Atarax (which is what she offers) VS. Versed, which is an antipsychotic drug. Why would I want to medicate my child with an antipsychotic!? Her approach is so much more holistic and gentle. My sweet son was so relaxed and happy. I cannot believe the same child that was unable to get his immunizations by his pediatrician last week sat through the rest of his dental work!!  We are so fortunate to have someone like Dr. Self in Kitsap county.  I will never take my children anywhere else!!!
